Baklava for Babies Program in Cafés across the Salt Lake Valley
The Road Home Looking to expand their families program with funding through the Baklava for Babies
Using her family recipe (featured in Martha Stewart’s, Everyday Food November 2008), Elif’s baklava makes you feel good in more ways than one. Not only does she provide various nut combinations and flavors making her baklava unique, she also donates 25% of the proceeds to The Road Home, the local homeless shelter, to help the families. As a mom as well as a Life Coach, she feels compelled to find a way to help the families and the children. It is her hope that the funds could go towards developing new programs that will provide an option for individuals to lift themselves up out of difficult circumstances. With proceeds from this program, her objective is to provide an opportunity to help these families develop their Strengths into Skills, to create a solid foundation to step up and out of their current situation.
Emily Potts, owner of Sugar House Coffee, says “Baklava has been a wonderful addition to Sugar House Coffee. Not only do we get to offer this delicious treat to our loyal customers, but now we also get to support a local woman owned business. Supporting Baklava for Babies is important to us at Sugar House Coffee because we know part of the proceeds goes to benefitting babies at The Road Home. Elif is an amazing individual that is committed to service and paying it forward in our community.”
Jaymie Carroll, Equity Realtor, exclaims: “All my clients LOVED her baklava last month! She is the BAKLAVA QUEEN. Salt Lake, here she comes!”
