It’s time to move and get this party started. The party is your life and it is time to show up! What can you do right now, within the next 15 minutes to create some sort of movement to where you want to go…No, it doesn’t need to be PERFECT or even the right way to go, but you got to try! In case you didn’t get the latest Life Memo: It’s ok to fail-it shows you are trying.
Alex and I were talking last night about day 12: Act as If and how it leads into Day 13: Take Action. He could understand how acting “as if” you are where you want to be not only forces you to challenge your self, your beliefs, but also others beliefs about you. If you stand up and represent who you want to be, it pulls others up to see you in that light as well. Taking Action is showing up and being first out on that dance floor to have fun even though you may not be the best dancer yet.
Hugo, our friend from Canada, is visiting again and we began talking business- he pushes me to think in more business action oriented ways. Our talk stimulated an AHA moment and I started looking in other ways to draw business to me-I began to take action. Everything is usually right in front of you, sometimes you just need someone to point you in an area you never would have thought of before. My outside of the box moment was this: Instead of trying to convince a foundation to allow you to create workshops to help women and families and them pay you, why not look to other means to find money, create the workshop and then find a place. 1% philanthropy micro grants was where I began the search and I found one! Cliff Bar has various grants available and application deadlines are 4 times a year. November 1 is the last deadline for this year. Even though, I have never written a grant before and have 4 days to come up with a detailed program yet, I am going to try. The average payout for these grants is about $8000. I have time, I have the opportunity, I have a friend who has Non profit status who gave me all her numbers use. It is all about thinking and responding to your outcomes in alternate ways. This will be a learning experience for me, and may end up being financially beneficial too! BONUS!! I have let go of having to have it be perfect. I am not going to sit on the sidelines watching anymore. Life’s a party and I am going to play hard-who’s joining me?
