I’ve had some amazing people in my life. Look at my father – he came from a small fishing village of five hundred people and at six foot four with giant ears and a kind of very odd expression, thought he could be a movie star. So go figure, you know? ~Kiefer Sutherland
I saw this quote by Keifer Sutherland today and it just sort of summed up Day 14. Think about it, Donald Sutherland, not leading man material, went against “normal” for his village and thought he could be more than just a fisherman, to be a star. That is truly trusting in yourself and leaning into it.
Well, today I leaned…spent the whole day leaning and learning. Yesterday, I had begun filling out the grant application for Clif bar and had no idea how I was going to come up with a valid idea, formulate it, and write it down by the Nov 1 deadline. Letting go and letting thoughts simmer overnight bubbled over and woke me up at 5 am with an idea, a pretty cool one too!
I am going to create a Mobile Mindfulness Coaching program and take it to who needs it most but can’t afford it: Prisons and Shelters. Programs are either online or at a specific location for a high price. The combination of Mindfulness and Life Coaching would certainly be beneficial for women in prison as they need to figure out how to create a new life after Incarceration. The cost of Life Coaches averages about $150/hr + the Cost of online eCourse in Mindfulness $40/hr= $190!! There needs to be a program that allows these women in shelters or in prison the opportunity to lift themselves up to something greater than they thought possible.
SO, I leaned it…I researched, I learned, and I am excited to create this project. Will I be awarded the grant? I don’t know, but I am still going to try! I am learning a lot in the process and figuring out a focus. I took action with the grant, leaned into it and learned, now..to ready myself for Day 15: Ready yourself for fear and take action anyway!
