Simple (ha ha) Question of the Day: What do you want? In your heart of hearts, deep down, what is the quiet little mouse voice saying? …Sorry, you are going to have to speak up, yell it if you have to because we all want to hear it so we can find ways to support you!
Today was a bit more time consuming the the previous 2 days. Deeper thinking, listening, and writing it down. For me, when I ask that question, pictures and images bubble up. It takes time to really look hard at the pictures and organize them into a cohesive Life Mural. It reminds me of the scene from Minority Report in which Tom Cruise sees all the images in front of him and he swishes each one to its proper location. As the first few days helped me gain better clarity, today was about refinement and focus. Sitting down for 30 minutes to write “I Want…” statements seemed redundant at first, but keep digging and the truth eventually unearths itself.
Next, comes the question: What is your vision of your ideal life?
If these “wants” are the destination, what is your road-map? How can you pull it all together so you can revisit your goals and be clear each day? A Vision Statement. The vision statement is written out incorporating 7 areas of your life: Financial, Job/Career, Free time, Physical Health, Relationships, Personal Life, and your Community. Taking the time to picture each frame of your Life Mural, then writing it out, cements it into your brain. Be as clear and specific as you can be: colors, sounds, environment, anything and everything. When you revisit this each day, your brain will become attuned to the high degree of focus and your external life will, soon, shift into alignment with your visualized life. In order to be even more specific with some of my “wants,” I went to Pinterest and created a Pin-Board of the topics outlined in my vision statement. Sometimes, seeing an actual picture helps me to hold the space for it to come into my life a bit easier. This afternoon, I am going to read and record my vision statement so I can listen to it easier than actually having to sit at the computer to read it.
It’s been a long day and my brain is tired, so now it’s time for tea. Until tomorrow, my friends…
