I have to be honest: I am pretty frustrated with how today played itself out and I am grumpy! Driving in circles from one place to another for meetings that either get canceled or rescheduled…grrr!
First off, it hasn’t all been a complete waste of a day. I went to my first local small business networking breakfast. I set my intention to connect with someone personally from the Tin Angel Restaurant. I am still amazed at the power of small intentions: The owner sat 2 seats away from me and now we are connected through Facebook. That was my “Win” for the day!
It went downhill from there. After spending 2 hours at the DMV waiting to renew my driver’s license, they sent us all home because the system was down state wide! ….big sigh…Ok ok, I did take advantage of the time to meditate a little, send out future intentions, and say some gratitude’s.
I made a quick run way back home for food (I was STARVING after waiting so long at the DMV!) then it was onto meeting #1 at 1:30–nope…rescheduled for next week.
Deep breath..ok, next?
Driving to meeting #2: Of course, en route, my phone rings canceling it due to unexpected emergency.
Seriously? What is my “take away” from all this driving in circles? I am a person who likes to be somewhat productive and the loss of 7 hrs driving here and there is making me buggy.
If I sit quietly now, ask, and listen, this is what I heard:
You set your intention and you tried your best. Sometimes, it..just..doesn’t..work..out..and That’s ok! Cut yourself some slack, you did the best you could with what you had. breathe and let go of trying to always needing to be productive.
For the time being, I am going to go sit among the Hollyhocks and try to spy a hummingbird fly by!
