“We are all wanderers on this earth. Our hearts are full of wonder, and our souls are deep with dreams.”
~Gypsy Saying
Fall is here and I can just feel the shift. It is a time to shed like the the trees and release pieces of ourselves that have outlived its purpose. The full moon was last night and the Equinox will arrive tomorrow. If I was to personify Fall, I picture her as this whirling gypsy, dancing and spinning with fire-colored leaves swirling open as her skirt. Her heart is open in gratitude for the summer’s harvest and letting go of what she no longer needs so she can have her long winter’s sleep, unencumbered.
I just got off the phone with another coach of mine, Alma. We were talking of Moons and Magic. I was recalling this past week and about how grateful I was for the prosperity that has shown up in gifts or actual tangible money. However, I was beginning to express impatience in other areas of my work life. She offered a bit of wisdom: Don’t Push t
he Harvest. For her, when she first started out, the same Rune, Jera the Harvest Rune, kept showing up in her life. I don’t know much about runes, throwing them, or interpreting them. My Woo-Woo awareness in that area was lacking. After looking it up, it was as if I was looking down from above onto a swirling dancer. It’s message is about patience and moving harmoniously to life’s rhythm. A farmer doesn’t push his crops to harvest bigger or faster. He understands that it takes time, attention, and water to grow.
As a mom, sometimes I want things done RIGHT NOW! Reflecting on that and knowing that pushing something before it’s time will not yield the results you want. To move through time with a Gypsy spirit is to slow down, appreciate what falls in your path, and allow yourself to move freely, unencumbered by your past.
Take time, on this Harvest Full moon, to be grateful for what you have, give thanks for what is coming, and shed your leaves so you can rest this winter.
