Imagine a woman who is interested in her own life.
A woman who embraces her life as teacher, healer, and challenge. Who is grateful for the ordinary moments of beauty and grace.
Imagine a woman who participates in her own life.
A woman who meets each challenge with creativity. Who takes action on her own behalf with clarity and strength.
Imagine a woman who has crafted a fully-formed solitude.
A woman who is available to herself.
Who chooses friends and lovers with the capacity to respect her solitude.Imagine a woman who acknowledges the full range of human emotion.
A woman who expresses her feelings clearly and directly.
Who allows them to pass through her as naturally as the breath.Imagine a woman who tells the truth.
A woman who trusts her experience of the world and expresses it.
Who refuses to defer to the perceptions, thoughts, and responses of others.Imagine a woman who follows her creative impulses.
A woman who produces original creations.
Who refuses to color inside someone else’s lines.Imagine a woman who has relinquished the desire for intellectual approval.
A woman who makes a powerful statement with every action she takes.
Who asserts to herself the right to reorder the world.Imagine a woman who has grown in knowledge and love of herself.
A woman who has vowed faithfulness to her own life.
Who remains loyal to herself. Regardless.Imagine yourself as this woman.

For the first time in over 15 years, this poem came into my head this morning compelling me to re-read and allow it’s lessons back into my life.
Asenath and I were working and talking about creating a Heart-Based businesses. When you feel that rumbling in your gut, that calls to you as an internal scream “You are here to do something important!,” leading with your heart will give you strength and allow to stay the course to completion. It is not that a heart-based business is not interested in making money, quite the opposite in fact. A heart based business thinks outside the box by fully engaging with yourSelf to go beyond money. Whatever your belief system is, one thing is true: we are all made of energy. What you feel, projects outward beyond the physical. Quantum physics is constantly changing and evolving how we view the world around us.
I write a lot about being quiet so you can really hear your truth to move forward into a life you a meant to live. That Truth is the rumbling you feel. Lately, I have been drawn to pictures of strong women wearing feathers or feather headdresses. Deep down, when I look at those pictures, I feel the woman’s strength as she stands tall, balancing that heaviness on her head. On the other hand, there is a part of me that sees the contrived nature of the photos that border-line on ridiculous. Really, in the “real world” would a waif-like blond haired woman walk around with a Native American Headdress or in gypsy garb? It seems so staged, yet the emotion it evokes still makes me feel strong.
Does one need to risk everything, even look ridiculous, to find their own inner strength, power and acceptance? I recently went to a book signing event. The topic: Lady Gaga, her extreme marketing, her values, and her message. She is clear about her message about Being Brave and accepting who you are. By the end of the hearing the author, Jackie Huba, talk about leading with values, I could see myself clearly as a Voice to help women reclaim their strength and be brave. By helping the women, their children will learn how to be brave and strong through example. My mission is to help the children, but it is a process. My message was clear: You are the Gypsy-Mama to Help the Mothers, Help the Children, Help the world.
Time to put on my feathered headdress, stand strong, with arms outstretched to help whoever needs something to hold on to.
