When I read this quote, I immediately said “YES! That’s the word I have been looking for: Notorious!” I want to be Notorious: absolutely, un-apologetically, notoriously me! In this world of plastic people, I want to be the one that is alive, living a life that is playful as well as meaningful.
I don’t want to get comfortable. If I am comfortable then I feel like I am hiding from the possibilities. Life is meant to be a challenge, to push the boundaries of the comfort zone. In my mind, comfort is akin to giving up, accepting a life less that amazing, and …well…boring.
Safety is subjective. When you actively participate in your life, fear becomes a constant echo but it doesn’t have the power to paralyze anymore. Choosing to follow your own way is accepting that there is risk. There is no guarantee or safe way to live. Look both ways before crossing the street and move on.
Fear appears when the Head tries to quiet the Heart. Your Heart is where you fear to live because that is where your potential lives. To take the time to actively listen to what your Heart has to say and trust it, is one of the hardest things to do. The Heart knows your strength and knows how much you are capable of. It is the Head, with it’s fear based belief system, that tries to talk you out of what you know to be true.
It’s time to Be Notorious. The word did no always have a negative association to it. Originally, it meant “commonly known.” People who are notorious live life fully without regard for what other’s think. They are known to live on the other side of fear, walk off the path, and be themselves…totally, completely, un-apologetically themselves.
