The past few weeks have had me writing and re-writing pitch letters for Press and Media. Creating promotions to include have proven to be problematic and the whole process twisted my brain in knots.
Finally..FINALLY…I got the Green Light GO from Asenath to send out my letters. That was yesterday.
She and I took some time to review all the work we have done. She expressed concern that she was feeling like a Mother Hen waiting for chicks to hatch. We both wanted some sort of spark to ignite my message. She asked if I was nervous.
Honestly, I have had to take a few deep breaths this week as one huge expense after another keeps popping up like popcorn. Breathe and let it go because something is going to happen, and happen soon. I didn’t know what or when or from where, but I know that somehow I would strike a chord somewhere.
This morning, DING!, my message struck a chord. One of the local TV channels I had sent a pitch letter asked if I would be interested in participating in a new show geared toward Women. I had to read the email a few times before it actually sunk in that I may be on TV every Friday at 4 pm! After taking a look at the channel’s current schedule, it seems that Dr. OZ is moving out of that time slot…making space for another Turk to come in and take over *wink wink*.
I immediately forward the email to Asenath, call her to tell her to check her email, and then I count down to her reaction: 1…2…”OH MY GOD!!! THIS IS HUGE!!”
All of sudden, conversation shifts to hair, makeup, wardrobe, and do I need a stylist to make me ready for TV? UM…don’t know? Do I?
Emails begin shooting back and forth between me and the producer. When can I come in? They will work around my schedule if necessary. Really? You are going to shift your day around for me? Wow!
The show debuts September 2, a little over a week away. It always amazes me that when things are supposed to happen, they happen and FAST!
Deep breath of gratitude. Now…What does one wear to meet a producer to “flesh” out ideas for the upcoming shows? My meeting is tomorrow afternoon. It will be a full day for me: going to the Horse Sanctuary to prepare for the Benefit sale, bake a baklava for the cafe, meet with producer, and be able to pick Allegra up at school around 3:45.
A Good Night’s Sleep is a definite MUST!
Wish me luck!!
I am happy dancing all the way, lovely lady! And cannot wait till Friday! Celebrate.
